Iridoteuthis iris, a sepiolid found in the Northern Central Pacific Ocean. Unlike many other species of Bobtail squid, Iridoteuthis iris is pelagic - that is, it lives in the open ocean.

There is a second species in this genus, Iridoteuthis maoria, but not much is known about it as of yet.
